Mediation/Arbitration

I have immersed myself in all aspects of family law, including litigation (court), mediation, arbitration, collaborative family law, and parenting coordination.

My role in the Kindred Group is as a family law mediator and arbitrator. While I expect litigation will always have a place in family law - and is sometimes a necessary step - there are many other options available to people going through separation or other family law challenges. In fact, processes like mediation, arbitration and parenting coordination are often a better fit for many families. Offering the opportunity to not only resolve the issues in a way to better meet the needs of the family, but in the case of mediation and parenting coordination, to build the ability to communicate more effectively for the benefit of the family.

I have worked extensively in resolving parenting, financial and support issues, often in families who experience significant conflict. Outside of the practice of law, I have been very involved in the Ottawa community, sitting on the boards of both Interval House Ottawa and Nelson House, both of which are shelters for woman and children fleeing domestic violence.

In my home life, I have been involved in both hockey and soccer to support my two children who are mostly grown men.
